Public Open Spaces Evaluation Using Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA) in Saudi Universities: The Case of King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah

Public open spaces (POSs) provide multiple services (such as facilities for physical activities and social interactions) to local people, these are important the well-being of society improving quality life. Extensive research on POSs has been carried out in developed countries US Australia, well European including Spain, France, Germany). However, Saudi Arabian context remain unexplored. This study aims examine importance performance public King Abdulaziz University (KAU) campus, Jeddah city, Arabia, using importance-performance analysis (IPA). One-way ANOVA Kruskal–Wallis tests were performed identify differences POSs. It was observed that there significant between KAU perceived by stakeholders. Therefore, this may be helpful understanding spaces, allowing prioritized improve management restore achieve environmental sustainability at a scale. In addition, suggests decision-makers involved campus planning should consider contribution education, recreation, environment, stage.
